To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.
— Audrey Hepburn

Welcome to Gardenotopia. My name is Kim and I’m a florist, & gardener of over thirty years, here in Washington State.

As a native Washingtonian I have seen the changes in climate here over the years. And we’re all experiencing the uncertainty of this particular time.

This site is all about demystifying one area—gardening—so that you can feel truly knowledgeable and empowered to grow plants no matter what the world or the climate provides.

Gardenotopia is about digging down a bit deeper into areas of earth-friendly gardening that may be confusing or overwhelming, so you can confidently move forward—seed packet in hand!—and do something good for you, your family & community, pollinators & the ecosystem within which you live.

I’d love to have you along on this journey as I write articles exactly for you: the person who wants to become a truly knowledgeable, eco-centered gardener. Thanks for being here!

Everything that slows us down and forces patience... Gardening is an instrument of grace.
